"Was introduced to Hai Kee by a friend from Alor Setar. Good food but we were only 2 persons. Would love to try more. Unique, old-school. You would be brought back in time. What seems like a family run business, i thought service was prompt. You do not get a menu. P/s: does anyone think the building structure is unstable? On the upper floor it shakes with every step or everytime a heavy vehicle passes by."

"Fish laksa is surprisingly good but what I like the most is the balacan sauce in the kangkung dish. You can enter from back door and go upstairs for aircond room. Toilet is small and old, but understandable considering it is old shop."

"A very authentic Hainanese food outlet. Its exterior is very unassuming. It has a seating area on the first floor, which is air-conditioned. The food is good and tasty. Should try their fish preparation. Was very good. The dishes were all well prepared. Very good service and with a smile. Efficient and very hospitable. The ambience is an area where they can work upon. The ground floor appears a little cluttered. Needs a bit of reorganizing, and it will look good enough. Payment can be made by cash or QR Parking is available behind the restaurant."

"A restaurant that dont look amazing from the outside but serve super delicious food inside. Reminds me of home cooked food. We love all the dishes that we ordered. Highly recommend to try if in Alor Setar!"

"Pretty nice old restaurant in Alor Star - stopped by alone so decided to go for the "chap fun" with their signature Curry Chicken with Potatoes and Tau Eu Bak (braised pork in soya sauce). Food is nice - gives you that grandma cooking flavor. Wished I had few more friends with me so that we could have enjoyed more dishes to give a better review of this place. Parking can be an hassle for this place"
